Consolidating Services

Consolidating Services

September 17, 2020 Posted by Jeff Ralston Kitchen Exhaust Hood

When Hood Boss was started, we always envisioned the company growing into more than just Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning. We knew that there was value in having one vendor provide multiple services to their clients. It is a common practice in the marketplace to bundle services to get better rates and consolidate services, and the technology industry is a prime example of “bundling.” As we continue to grow, we have implemented services that we do well to offer to our existing and potential clients. The advantages to our clients consolidating services is evident in cost savings, accountability, and relationship building.

Consolidation means Cost Savings

Businesses can save money by consolidating multiple services to a single provider. Going back to the example of the technology industry, your internet provider offers price breaks for adding cable, telephone, and other services. The same logic applies to the services we provide as well, but for different reasons.

One of the biggest expenses for providers like ours is travel charges. Whether it takes 15 minutes or 2 hours to get to a location, a cost still occurs. When a client combines services, it can eliminate multiple trips to a location which in turn eliminates the associated cost of another trip. The biggest opportunity for savings is when the majority of our work is completed over night while the facility is shut down. With the facility empty for at least 6 to 8 hours, a multitude of different services can be performed and the facility is back to normal operation the next day with no need for any shut down. Consolidating services means lower overall costs and affordability for services that you might not have been able to fit into operating expenses.

Vendor Accountability

Accountability is a huge factor for any service provider. If issues arise, it is imperative that the service provider follow through on what was promised or correct any mistakes. We like to refer to it as “one neck to choke” which basically means one point of contact to engage with on multiple services. Instead of having to manage multiple relationships with different vendors, it becomes easier to have one point of contact which allows that relationship to carry over to other services.

Consolidating Paperwork and Invoices

Paperwork and office time are a necessary evil when running any type of business. This is also true for the hospitality industry where guest engagement and management to staff interactions are key to driving business. Most hospitality managers get into the industry because they enjoyed the hustle and person to person interaction that the industry provides. Office time is the exact opposite of that, and it takes time away from those key elements of the industry. By consolidating services and vendors, you are ultimately cutting back on the amount of paperwork and office work that comes along with those services. Whether it is keeping track of multiple contracts or numerous invoices, bundling services will minimize paperwork.

Quality Relationships

Quality relationships are extremely important in the service provider to client relationship. Having accountability is part of it, but the bigger part of relationships is knowing and understanding needs of one another. Having a vendor provide one service, do it well and build trust is great. Using that same vendor, that is already trusted, creates a stronger relationship. The vendor understands the needs of the client on different levels and the client understands the needs and capabilities of the vendor. The business relationship grows from just exchanging money for services to each entity helping each other succeed.

Hood Boss wanted to meet the needs of our clients on a higher level and become a provider that encompasses a number of different services under one umbrella. Hood Boss cannot only keep your exhaust systems clean and fire safe, but we also pressure wash sidewalks, parking lots, drive-thrus, dumpster pads, canopies, etc. Hood Boss can also clean your ceiling tiles, a service that most clients never knew existed or even thought about doing. Due to the COVID pandemic, Hood Boss is now offering sanitizing services at a discounted rate for current clients. Boss Fire, our sister company, can take care of your fire suppression needs. By allowing us to complete these services for you, we hope you will see the benefit of a multi-service provider. We pride ourselves on keeping your business successful, clean, and safe any way we can.
